Our ability to deliver high quality cleaning services to our customers depends on finding the best people. We believe the quality of our operations and sales team is second-to-none, and we’d like to you to get to know them. They’re committed to providing the best possible service and value to our customers—our growing list of satisfied clients proves that we’re on to something!
Art Grube, Director of Operations, Madison
Art, a retired Senior Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force, developed his cleaning management skills at another firm before coming to EC in June, 1998 as an Area Manager. It wasn’t very long before he was promoted to Operations Manager. It is his job to take care of customers, oversee his staff of area managers and make sure that his nightly cleaning staff performs to required standards.
Art and his wife Arlene own 35 acres of land and are frequent vendors at area farmers’ markets; office staff members routinely enjoy produce and freshly laid eggs. Their newest hobby is decorative gourd painting.
Dean Landowski, Assistant Operations Manager
Dean and Lisa and their two boys moved to Madison from Antigo, WI in 2008 to take advantage of a better school system. Dean came to EC with some significant management experience from Red Roof Inns and an industrial supplies company. He puts that experience to work as he works to take care of the customers’ needs while building a team of employees that are trained, dependable and satisfied with their job.
Dean is most happy spending time with his family. The highlight for all of them was a family vacation to Disney World. They love to camp on the weekends, visiting waterparks and special events around Madison, like the Fishing Expo. In fact, fishing is a joy in his life, but with two active boys and the need of the family, it isn’t something that he gets to do often. Given a free day to spend by himself, he’d pull out the jon boat and stay on Lake Mendota from sunrise to sunset.
Area Managers
Andrew Anderson, Area Manager, Madison
Armando Mendoza, Area Manager, Madison
Bob Meixner, Area Manager, Madison & Chippewa Valley
Bob returned to EC in October, 2002 after a 10-year absence: he worked with us at several points between 1976 and 1993. During those years, he did every job—from cleaner to unit manager to Human Resources specialist. After leaving EC, he owned two businesses: a carpet cleaning business and a vending machine servicing business. In between, he also became a real estate salesman, something that he continues in his spare time.
Bob brings some significant cleaning experience, but what he really likes is developing people, although he says “At EC, I don’t have to work at finding quality people to work on my team: I’m so impressed that they’re already there! My job is to develop their skills even more.”
He and his wife Kathleen really like to eat out, so if you see them sitting at a table next to you, be sure to say hello!
Steve Doerr, Area Manager, Madison
We love to promote our best people, and Steve is one of those. Starting out in fall 2008 as cleaner, promoted to assistant area manager, and now to area manager, he is responsible for a unit of business on the west side of Madison.
Steve grew up in Frankenmuth, Michigan and went to college in Indiana where he met his wife Jena while they worked at the same restaurant. When the restaurant opened a branch in Madison, Steve moved here. Since that time, they’ve had a little girl, Lily. Steve loves that his job allows him to take care of Lily in the mornings and he has many precious memories of her early development and those “firsts.”
An avid movie buff, his favorite movie is Lawrence of Arabia. As if life wasn’t busy enough, he’s decided to teach himself French and the violin. And one of these days, he’s going to go sky-diving. Why? Because I never have, he’ll answer.
Amanda Pynenberg, Customer Service Representative, Fox Valley
Dawn Marier, Assistant Area Manager, Fox Valley
Renee Hipp, Assistant Area Manager, Fox Valley
Connie Collier, Assistant Area Manager, Fox Valley
Mark Hanson, Equipment Repair Specialist
Mark has worked with EC through many stages of his life. In 1992 he returned, working as a cleaner. Subsequently he served as an Area Manager on the west side of Madison, then eventually took on the position of Technical Systems & Supplies Manager, where he ensured that our cleaners have the proper supplies and equipment and that our customers have the paper products they need. He also researches new supplies and equipment, always looking for better, more efficient ways to clean. In January 2007, in order to devote more time to his entrepreneurial ventures outside EC, Mark shifted to a part-time, but extremely important position repairing all of our many vacuums and floor cleaning equipment.
Mark and his wife Lori have started a small business that sells special tools for cleaning fish tanks. He’s also an avid astronomer and, when the aurora borealis flares up, has been known to get up in the middle of the night and take his telescope out to the country to get good photographs. Mark is also a golfer who vies for the “EC Cup.”
